Canadian band Arcade Fire has reteamed with filmmaker Spike Jonze to create the music for his upcoming sci-fi romance Her.
The film — which stars Joaquin Phoenix, Scarlett Johansson, Amy Adams and Rooney Mara — revolves around a man who falls in love with an artificial intelligence computer operating system.
The director of Being John Malkovich, Adaptation and music videos for Fatboy Slim, Beastie Boys, Weezer, Beck and Bjork, Jonze has previously worked with the Grammy-winning Montreal alt-rock group.
He directed the official music video for the title track for Arcade Fire's 2010 album The Suburbs as well as the subsequent short film Scenes from the Suburbs.
Earlier, he had featured a version of Arcade Fire's hit Wake Up in the trailer of his 2009 film Where the Wild Things Are.
A trailer for Her was released Wednesday. The film is slated to hit theatres beginning Nov. 20.
Meanwhile, the band's much-anticipated new album is slated for release Oct. 29.
