Canada Reads, CBC's annual battle-of-the-books competition, will reach its dramatic conclusion today, with a fourth and final day of intense literary debate from five high-profile personalities.
Singer songwriter Martha Wainwright put up a good fight yesterday defending Jocelyne Saucier's novel And the Birds Rained Down. But fellow panellists Craig Kielburger, Lainey Lui, Cameron Bailey and Kristin Kreuk all voted to eliminate it.

The title joins Thomas King's The Inconvenient Indian and Intolerable by Kamal Al-Solaylee, which were already voted out of the competition.
That leaves just two books in the running in today's finale: Kim Thuy's Ru, defended by Bailey, and When Everything Feels Like the Movies, defended by Lui. The debate kicks off right here at 10 a.m. ET.
This year's competition is all about books that can break boundaries, change perspectives and challenge stereotypes.
