Alexisonfire, a Canadian post-hardcore band with some Hamilton ties, is reuniting for a series of festivals and shows this year, including performances in Montreal, Toronto, Edmonton and Calgary. 

The band, which played a "final" show in Hamilton in 2012, hinted on Instagram last week that an announcement was coming Monday.

The Sonic Boom and X-Fest shows take place September 5 and 6. Those shows will be the first for the band since their performance in Hamilton on New Years Eve in 2012.
