Gone Girl director David Fincher takes on murder, the media and marriage in his highly-anticipated big screen adaptation of Gillian Flynn's best-selling novel.

The thriller stars Ben Affleck as Nick Dunne, a seemingly-hapless husband accused in the murder of his rich and beautiful wife Amy, played by former Bond girl Rosamund Pike.

Like the book, the narrative dares the audience to choose sides with either the sympathetic husband or his enigmatic wife.

"Like a dangerous cross breed between War of the Roses and Fatal Attraction this is a film that engages with its audience," says CBC film reviewer Eli Glasner.

"Affleck is amazing but it's Pike's performance that will rattle your rib cage."

Girl Gone opens in theatres Friday.
