A national quest to find, finance and develop fresh, funny Canadian talent officially begins Tuesday with CBC ComedyCoup accepting applications for a potential $500,000 television show development deal.
CBC, CineCoup and Just for Laughs Television have joined forces to launch what they're calling a "digital accelerator" to launch new Canadian comedy projects.
It aims to launch between five and 10 projects this year.
For the next five weeks, creators are asked to submit a 90-second teaser video showcasing their comedic chops and create social platforms for their projects.
Applications must be received by Sept. 21.
