Former U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton is in Toronto today on a promotional tour for her new memoir, including a sit-down interview with Peter Mansbridge that will air tonight on CBC's The National.
Clinton will discuss her book Hard Choices, but observers also hope she will drop a few hints about whether she plans to run in the next presidential election.
In her first Canadian sit-down interview since the release of her book, she will talk with Mansbridge about her career, family and time in the White House.
Clinton, who stepped down as secretary of state in February, has insisted she has not decided on a second bid for the presidency, but during her book tour, she has made it clear she is giving it serious consideration.
Clinton has said she finds the prospect of running compelling, simply because it offers the chance to help Americans find economic opportunities that elude them.
Clinton has also already confronted the issue of her husband's Bill Clinton's infamous affair with former White House intern Monica Lewinsky when he was U.S. president, saying she has moved on from the matter that led to his impeachment and Senate acquittal.
She narrowly lost to Barack Obama in the 2008 Democratic presidential primaries.
