Actress Lake Bell, a rising film and TV star who has also begun writing and directing movies herself, teams up with longtime friend Jon Hamm in the uplifting new sports drama Million Dollar Arm.

Tackling a role in a widely appealing, for-all-ages film is a first, she said.

Based on a real-life story, the film follows a sports agent (Hamm) who discovers two talented teen cricket players in India and his efforts to transform them into professional baseball stars. Bell portrays a quirky, tough-talking woman who becomes the agent's unlikely love interest.

In the attached video, Bell talks to CBC's Eli Glasner about the Disney film and dishes on her surprisingly "goofy" co-star, best known as the brooding Don Draper in TV's period drama Mad Men.
