The new Mark Wahlberg film Lone Survivor is the real-life story of a small group of U.S. Navy SEALS who embark on a doomed mission in Afghanistan in 2005.

It's the tale of Marcus Luttrell and three other SEALS who stumble across some unarmed shepherds on a hillside - and the Americans' agonizing debate over what to do with the Afghans.

Writer-director Peter Berg spent a month with a SEAL team in Iraq and sent his actors to boot camp to prepare for the film.
Wahlberg plays Luttrell, while actors Taylor Kitsch, Emile Hirsch and Ben Foster are the rest of the SEALS, whose cover is blown in Taliban country.
