A second Toronto show has been added to the upcoming tour by The Rolling Stones.
The British rockers announced a May 25 appearance on Wednesday, part of the long-anticipated 50 and Counting tour that marks their 50th anniversary as a band. On Friday, they said there'd be a second concert June 6.
The band released a video on its official website Wednesday morning announcing nine dates, with Ronnie Wood painting the names of the cities on a canvas as they were announced.
Meanwhile frontman Mick Jagger has hinted in interviews that there might be more dates to come.
In a release Friday, the Stones said the second Toronto concert was "due to popular demand." Toronto is so far the only Canadian date on the tour, which begins in Los Angeles in May.
The city has hosted surprise gigs and rehearsals on past Stones tours.
The rockers also announced they'd play London's Hyde Park on July 6 — almost 44 years to the day after their first show there — and that former bandmate Mick Taylor would will be featured as a special guest throughout the tour.
The playlist will celebrate the high-energy band's classic hits, including Gimme Shelter, Paint It Black, Jumping Jack Flash and It's Only Rock and Roll, but will also feature "lesser known gems and a cover or two," the band said.
